Heating and Cooling When Building

Effective heating and cooling systems are crucial to install during the building process. The Heat Pump People have a variety of options available, and we are here to guide you through when they should be installed during the building process.

When to Consult

Although heating and cooling solutions may not be the first thing you consider when you start planning your home, effective heating and cooling is an important factor to consider in any new build.

The Heat Pump People have experience with designing and installing energy-efficient single -split, multi-system , ducted and VRV heating and cooling solutions. We recommend contacting us during the planning stage. This way, you can be sure that the solution you choose will suit the rest of your new home.

The Options Available

When it comes to a new home, there are a variety of options available. Heating and cooling systems come in single room systems and multi-room systems. If you are looking to heat and cool only one room or area, a single room system is recommended. If you are looking to control the temperature of your entire home, a multi-room system, such as a ducted unit, may be better suited to your needs.

What to Consider

When choosing which system is better suited for your new home, consider the following questions:

  • How many rooms will you need to cool and heat?
  • There is always an indoor and outdoor installation element? Do you prefer invisible units, wall mounted units, or floor units?
  • What is your budget?
  • How much outside space do you have for one or more outdoor units?

These will help you better find the system for your new home.

When to Install

Choosing when to install your heating and cooling system depends on the system which you have chosen. During your planning stage, this will be discussed with the designer of your system, and they will help advise you as to when the unit should be installed.

Some systems may have the pipework and electrical cabling installed before the walls and plastering are completed for instance. Doing this in advance will remove any visible cabling or conduit internally. The other half would be completed after the completion of the painting work. This part work generally involve fitting the outdoor and indoor units of your air-conditioning system inside your home – assuming you have chosen a unit that is visible. However, the process depends on the system you’ve chosen and your particular home.
